Updates to Investor Security Acceptance Workflow

We’ve updated the investor security acceptance workflow to prevent duplicate portfolios from being created.

When a new security is issued, and the designated user at the fund accepts that security, we will attempt to match the portfolio the security is issued to, to portfolios that are already exist in Carta. If a match is found, the user proceeds through the existing acceptance flow. If no match is found, there are three possible scenarios:

1. Contact issuer

For situations where there might be a misspelling or missing information from a fund name, we provide the acceptor with a form to contact the issuer to request any needed changes.

2. Create a new stand alone portfolio

For brand new portfolios, we provide the acceptor the ability to create that new portfolio with the acceptance workflow.

3. Create portfolio under an existing firm

In instances of a new portfolio within an existing firm, we provide the acceptor the ability to create that new portfolio within the acceptance workflow.
