Say goodbye to manual data entry—our new AI-Assisted Wire Account Creation feature uses advanced automation to handle the heavy lifting for your wire setups.

Why is this valuable?

Managing your banking details should be effortless. With AI-Assisted Wire Account Creation, you no longer have to struggle with cross-referencing messy wire instructions, guessing how to map nuanced data points to Carta's wire form, or entering the information manually.

With this new feature, you can simply upload your bank's wire instructions in PDF or image formats, and let our system handle the rest:

  • Automated Data Extraction: Our system instantly extracts the relevant financial information and pre-populates the appropriate fields for you.
  • Eliminate Manual Errors: By removing the need for manual data entry, this feature prevents typos, missing fields, or formatting mistakes before they cause processing delays.
  • Streamlined Workflow: Complete your wire account setup with significantly greater speed, ease, and confidence.

Who is this available for?

AI-Assisted Wire Account Creation is now available to all Fund Administration clients and their investors. To get started, simply navigate to your Payment Settings section and upload your bank's wire instruction document to see the auto-population in action.

Spousal Consent through Fillable Templates now live

In several states (such as California, Texas, and Washington), any assets acquired during a marriage are generally considered owned 50/50 by both spouses.

Without this form, a company faces several risks:

  • Divorce Complications: If a couple divorces, a judge might award half of the equity to the ex-spouse. The company doesn't want an "accidental" shareholder who isn't an employee or who might be hostile to the business.
  • Transfer Restrictions: Most equity agreements have "Right of First Refusal" (ROFR) or specific transfer restrictions. A spouse who hasn't signed the agreement might claim they aren't bound by those rules.
  • Voting Rights: The company wants to ensure that the voting power remains with the person actually involved in the business.

The spousal consent can be a separate document, but it is almost always bundled within the same "package" as the grant agreement, as an attachment or an exhibit.

While the Grant Agreement is the contract between the holder and the company, the Spousal Consent is a side-agreement between the spouse and the company.

How do I use it?

To get started, navigate to Essentials > Manage Equity > Vesting and securities templates.

Once there click on Create document set.

Choose the security type > add the template name > provide the the file and click next.

Wait for a moment while Carta's AI reads the document and places the variable on all the right places.

Once done, make sure that spousal consent related fields are selected. This is key for the spouse to be able to sign the document through Carta.

While reviewing you can click on each page of the document and see how it will look like

Once ready, click Save document set below.

Once the holder accepts the security through Carta, they will be able to add their spouse information.

Add spouse information.

Accept the security.

Once that's done, the spouse will get a one time login via email.

They will then fill out their information, as it was added to the document set.

Finally, once that's done, the holder gets an email confirming their spouse has finished signing the document via Carta.

Who is this available to?

Fillable templates are available to all company admins on Carta.

New: Biometric KYC Verification

We’re excited to announce the release of Biometric KYC Verification, making it significantly easier and faster for LPs to complete their Know Your Customer (KYC) tasks on Carta.

Why is this valuable?

Move from setup to capital deployment faster. Traditional KYC is a manual hurdle that creates friction for LPs and delays onboarding. This update replaces legacy data entry with a biometric-first workflow—eliminating administrative overhead while ensuring the highest level of data integrity and compliance.

What’s new?

  • Instant identity verification: Individual LPs can now verify their identity by scanning a government ID using their desktop or mobile phone—replacing a manual process with a streamlined flow completed in just minutes.
  • Simplified data requirements: For US Investor KYC Due Diligence, we have removed redundant fields to further simplify the process for LPs
  • Mobile-first flexibility: Investors can instantly transition from desktop to mobile via QR code to capture high-resolution ID photos, ensuring a higher success rate and faster approvals.

This is available for all Individual entity types across all Investor Services KYC Due Diligence products in all jurisdictions.

How do I use it?

  1. Enter KYC: Start the KYC process either within the Subscription Documents or Identity Verification task.
  2. Choose a method: Upload a photo of a government ID or scan the provided QR code to take a photo of the ID.
  3. Submit: Complete the task in a fraction of the time compared to legacy manual forms.

Anything else I need to know?

  • Existing tasks: LPs who have already started a KYC task will continue with the current form to ensure their progress is not interrupted.
  • Manual fallback: If an ID cannot be verified automatically, users will be prompted to try again or can choose to fill out the information manually to ensure no one gets stuck.

Whether you need to track reimbursements to the management company, fund-to-fund balances, or other intercompany liabilities, you now have centralized oversight.

  • Edit History: See an audit log of who made edits, what they changed, and when
  • On-demand Budget Refresh: Run fresh budget recommendations with the latest data, whenever you want
